Electronic ServicesCustomer RequirementsVehicle, machinery and engine manufacturers are constantly challenged to extend and improve the overall performance of their products. In addition to meet the emissions, noise and health and safety regulations, to fulfil high end user expectations with regard to operating efficiency, reliability, comfort and ergonomics is increasingly difficult.
At the same time, the production costs must be minimised and development effort should be reduced as much as possible.
Today the commercial vehicle, machinery and tractor are compared to the passenger car in view of comfort and has become a very complex system too.
Utilising the benefits of electronic control systems the vehicle performance can be much better adopted to the operating conditions and to the implements fixed to the vehicle.
For the driver the handling the vehicle or machinery becomes more simple and the various implements and tools can operate at their best efficiency. The overall goal is to achieve a higher comfort, better handling and driveability at a higher efficiency level.

AVL ApproachAVL can provide the full spectrum of support in the development of electronic engine and vehicle systems. Starting from simulation of various operating conditions, engine and vehicle control strategies can be developed in cooperation with the manufacturer.
Based on rapid prototyping methods such as hardware in the loop (HIL-) systems control algorithms can be designed for engine, emissions control devices, transmissions including Continuous Variable Transmissions and appliance control like ground speed regulators, cutter height regulation, dosage control for fertiliser or pesticides, and plough height/depth control etc.
These algorithms will be compatible with the standardised vehicle bus systems like CAN based communication networks. |
