DynamometerIn order to simulate the conditions on the chassis dynamometer or on the road, an active dynamometer is needed with extremely low mass inertia. The AVL DynoExact APA Series is ideal for this application and is a recognised industry standard.

Data Acquisition, Automation and ControlThe emissions-specific automation for light-duty engine testing is AVL GEM 301L, on the basis of the AVL automation platform PUMA Open. This approach offers the advantages of PUMA functionality regarding test run configuration, easy integration of sub-systems and network capabilities with the emissions-specific features offered by GEM – emissions test runs according to legislative requirements, reporting appropriate for certification.
For dynamometer and engine control required for dynamic engine testing AVL offers the EMCON 400 system, integrated within the automation system PUMA Open.
AVL ISAC 400 is the simulation package allowing the simulation of driver, road profile and conditions. This advanced software tool allows the simulation of the chassis dynamometer, as used in certification testing.
The proven AVL Front End Modules (FEMs) have been developed for data acquisition because they can be positioned in the cell, close to the unit under test, maximising signal quality.
