AVL DynoPrimeThe AVL DynoPrime is a series of PM motors designed to simulate the alternating output torque of an internal combustion engine. Due to an extremely low inertia, the DynoPrime can replace the IC engine in gearbox and driveline test beds.
Applications- Reproduction of IC engine output conditions without using a real IC engine
- Transmission pre-development before the matching engine is available
- R&D gearbox, transmission and accessory testing, where an easy change of type and characteristic of the IC engine output is required
- Endurance tests
- Acoustic tests

- Cutting costs by simulation of different ICE characteristics without mechanical mounting effort
- High flexibility in the parameterization of the simulated ICE
- Reducing test cell costs and running costs because of simplified gearbox and driveline testbeds
- Mass inertia similar to an ICE
- Tourque output similar to an ICE, plus additional tourque speed oscillations
- In existing test beds it is possible to retrofit a DynoPrime and to control it by the signal normally used for the ICE throttle
- This means that it is not necessary to change the parameterization of the customer´s test cycles
