US 2007 - 2010 Emission Compliance

For US 2007, similar technologies as for Euro 5 are applied, though with different calibration of the combustion system as the US heavy duty transient cycle is more focused on high engine speed but also on low idle operation, whereas in the European transient cycle the engine is predominantly operated at medium engine speed.

The preferred technology to comply with US 2007 legislation is cooled EGR with a particulate trap.

For US 2010, which is equally as demanding as Euro 6, high rates of cooled EGR, an advanced particulate filter and an SCR system will be needed combined with advanced combustion including exhaust gas temperature management at part load for regeneration of the after treatment systems.
