Field Support for all Types of EnginesFast, efficient failure analysis and field service for minimum down- timeCustomer RequirementsUnscheduled stoppages due to a failure sometimes affect diesel and gas engines in the field and cause disruption to schedule, engine unavailability leading to loss of income and reputation of builder and operator.
Avoiding long-term engine stoppage due to failures and to ensure the failure will not occur again require:
- Fastest availability of experts on-site
- Objective and quick evaluation of failure root-causes
- Confidence in assessment and adherence to confidentiality
- Repair recommendation and supervision

AVL ApproachUpon receiving a call from the engine builder or operator, AVL prepares to visit the site. Our specialist task force quickly prepares the instrumentation and inspection equipment needed and takes it to the engine in the field.
Once on site, we will inspect the engine and any damaged components. We take samples and record evidence that will lead/assist us in identifying the root cause of the problem.
Our experience directs us to look for the likely cause(s) and effect(s). We inspect records of the engine assembly and operation, looking for clues which may have been missed.
In discussions with engine builders, -owners, -operators and service personnel we prompt all those involved to remember isolated facts. These, we carefully build into the overall picture trying to explain the sequence of events. We give initial opinions but then report in depth after we have done any necessary material or fluid analysis.
AVL not only establishes the cause of failures, but makes detailed recommendations on how to repair the engine and how to ensure the problem will not occur again. |
