Basic durability development work starts in the prototype phase (Generation 1), and is then continued though to start of production with continuously updated hardware. The objective is to validate engine functions, durability and reliability under all relevant operating conditions.
AVL offers the durability development work to be carried out on dedicated AVL test beds, as well as consultation and support for the customer to perform part or most of the durability development work themselves.
The definition of the test programmes is supported by design and process FMEA, statistical field data and duty cycle information.
