MAIN APPLICATION AREASShot-to-shot measuring system AVL Shot to shot PLU 131 is used to measure precisely of mean consumption values, individual injection volumes and flow rate curves at Diesel- und Gasoline-Injectors in the field of R&D and Production.
The measuring system basically handles the following tasks:
- Measurements of single injection shots and flow rates
- Systematic optimisation of multiple injections
- Pre-setting of CPU`s in the whole engine operating range obtained with the whole fuel system
- Spray pattern development in the pressure chamber

SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONTwo different measurements in one meter. Piston to determine single- and individual injection volume measurements; Gear counter to determine precisely of mean flow. Continuous measurement of instantaneous flow rates from 0.03 l/h to 230 l/h can be performed with simultaneous measurements of up to 10 single injection shots of 0.3 mm³ to 1000 mm³.With highly-sensitive and extremely robust sensor the movements of a sensor piston is used to determine individually injected volume and flow rate characteristics. Simultaneously the speed of the measuring head is controlled in such a way that the differential pressure remains at “Zero” so that the flow rate is proportional to the speed. The plausibility of every single shot measurement result is ensured in real time by comparison with the mean consumption value.
