Instrumentation & Test Systems Products Injector Testing AVL PLU High Precision Flowmeter 131 HP

AVL PLU High Precision Flowmeter 131 HP

for high pressure application

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AVL PLU MEANS:

Savings in test bed capacity:

  • 100 % measurement readiness
  • Extremely short measurement times
  • Virtually maintenance-free
  • No recalibration required (long-term stability)

Reduction of development times:

  • High precision of measurement
  • Statistical evaluation of measurement results
  • Permanent plausibility check of measurement values
  • Communication via standard interface, with connection to PC and other evaluation units.

Broad range of application:

  • Large pressure range
  • Large measurement range (0,05 to 300 l/h)
  • For all commercially available fuels, as well as alcohols and alternative test fuels

MAIN APPLICATION AREAS

The Precision Flowmeter AVL PLU 131 HP is used to measure fuel consumption on component test beds for calibration and test of Gasoline- and Diesel-Injectors, especially when high pressures are required. It is also used to measure fuel consumption on engine test beds.

The flowmeter basically handles the following tasks:

  • Calibration of injector nozzles and -valves
  • Steady state and dynamic flow measurements on test bed

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The AVL PLU 131 HP is a Precision Flowmeter with integrated signal processing. When a PC is connected to the serial interface following values will be displayed:

  • Instantaneous consumption [l/h]
  • Measurement time [s]
  • Average value of consumption [l/h]
  • Standard deviation in %
  • Number of measuring values for sliding average calculation

For a statistical analysis of the measuring values the standard deviation of each measurement is displayed graphically. Measuring time and number of measurement for averaging can be set by the user via PC. The software for the A/S module can be configured at user's discretion.
Via pulse outputs RS 422 and frequency output the measuring value is transformed into a frequency and carried to the evaluation and display unit, like computer, frequency counter, and similar devices where they are processed, linearised, and displayed.
The factory default calibration is based on test stands that have been certified by the German Federal Institute for Physics and Technology (PTB). Therefore the measuring results can be reconverted into national standards.
