Online DoE Screening

Further Variation Points Adaptive Online DoE

DoE Tools

The CAMEO software provides several Design of Experiment - DoE Tools. Using these DoE tools long testing procedures can be reduced to shorter times by running statistical significant operating points and variation parameter combinations.

Global Modelling

CAMEO goes global... The latest version of CAMEO provides the user with the choice of local and/or global modelling together with an improved user interface. Please refer to the CAMEO Global Model Generator.

CAMEO DoE Test Designer

The DoE Test Designer is an automatic "design of experiments (DoE)" design tool. The DoE test designer does not require any previous DoE knowledge on the part of the user and thus makes the generation of DoE tests very easy and fast. The test designer calculates all speed, load and variation parameter values automatically according to the selected test design. Subsequent manual editing of the points is of course possible. The DoE test designer also offers the possibility of adding custom-built design algorithms into CAMEO´s DoE Wizard, or simply importing externally defined variation lists into CAMEO.

CAMEO Online DoE Screening

With conventional DoE supported workflows, the engine´s operating range for all variation parameters must be determined before a test plan can be designed. This determination of the limits for every variation parameter is called "screening". As the name implies, the CAMEO Online DoE Screening algorithm determines the location of the engine´s operating range automatically. This online borderline detection saves immense amounts of time. As a test design is executed, the algorithm approaches the desired value as prescribed by the DoE design in small steps. If a limit violation occurs, the variation values are taken back and the limit is reapproached using smaller steps. In this manner the borderline limit is detected and a measurement is made as close as possible to the borderline. The variation space can now be modelled successfully. The algorithm setup is easy, the user defines the variation parameters and their ranges, generates a start DoE test design and selects the screening algorithm.

CAMEO Adaptive Online DoE

The Adaptive Online DoE is an variation strategy, that makes use of modern design of experiment techniques. It is able to run an initial design and perform online borderline detection, automatically adjusting the test plan to provide good model quality. This eliminates the burden of manual test design and correction.

The application engineer chooses his initial test design from a selection. The test design is then used as a basis for an online screening algorithm that performs online borderline detection.

During a second phase - the online evaluation of the test design quality - the strategy calculates the valid design space. Forbidden areas are cut from the design space using special algorithms in CAMEO. These areas contain combinations of parameters that would violate engine operating limits (defined by the user). This all happens automatically.

After the design space has been determined the Adaptive Online DoE strategy determines whether any new combinations of variation parameters are necessary. These additional points depend upon the previously defined test design and model order. This procedure is fully automatic and requires no input by the operator nor requires specialist knowledge. Execution of the additional points During the last phase the adaptive DoE strategy measures the additional points and checks the model quality.
