BOOST Aftertreatment utilizes optimized solvers to simulate the transient behavior of a complete exhaust gas line including pipes, catalysts and DPFs. It also supports the simulation of emission test cycles in real-time. BOOST Aftertreatment has been selected by numerous ground vehicle OEMs and suppliers as the tool of choice for simulating exhaust gas aftertreatment systems.
For controls-oriented applications AVL BOOST Aftertreatment can be integrated into the BOOST gas-exchange and engine performance models, to study the effect that a change in a control variable has on engine raw emissions, the heat-up of the exhaust gas line, the performance of the emission reduction system, and ultimately on tailpipe emissions.
AVL BOOST Aftertreatment offers a broad set of pre-defined, “ready to use” models for all types of catalysts (DOC, TWC, SCR, lean NOx trap) and diesel particulate filters. The user can easily modify all model parameters and/or directly access the chemical reactions and corresponding rate equations.
