Intake System

This simulation task is dedicated to optimize the intake air path from the air inlet to engine intake ports in terms of pressure losses. Particular attention is paid to:

  • optimization of the geometry in respect to the pressure drop
  • investigation of the air delivery to each cylinder
  • assessment of the mixing between fresh air and returned exhaust gas in the intake manifold and the homogeneity of the mixture supplied to each cylinder
  • determining gas side thermal boundary conditions for investigating the thermal load on integrated manifolds
