New AVL Location for Software and Function Development in RegensburgThe worldwide high-tech company AVL amplifies its activities in the fields of application and software development in Germany and founds the wholly owned subsidiary “AVL Software and Functions GmbH” in Regensburg. Until the end of the year the automobile and supply industry situated in the vicinities shall be supported especially in the fields of function and system development by the approximately 50 employees from the new location in Regensburg. Simultaneously, AVL plans to amplify the research and development activities at this location for future innovative solutions in the field of engine and transmission engineering.
On the basis of its synergies between transmission system development, simulation, and test systems, AVL has a very good position in the field of automotive technology. With the foundation of the “AVL Software and Functions GmbH”, AVL takes a giant step closer to supporting the automotive industry regarding the launch of economic and environmentally friendly vehicles to the market that are characterized by having an individual character. AVL’s permanent development platform, a professional application methodology, and the use of subjective procedures regarding the driving behavior and the sound design support the planned activity.
The German city of Regensburg has been selected the new AVL location as the city is characterized by its positive position as regards to new establishments of the industry and by its infrastructure. Furthermore, the university and the University of Applied Sciences with 750 graduates in the fields of engineering and natural sciences per year have to be highlighted.
