AVL DynoTrainThe AVL DynoTrain consists of AC motors, matching inverters and mains converters especially developed for use on powertrain test beds. All the system components are designed as a modular construction kit, to give maximum flexibility in customization.
Applications- Development and testing of powertrain systems, from one to four driven axles
- Development and testing of gearbox or transmission systems for FWD, RWD, 4WD vehicles
- Endurance tests of powertrain with recovery of the energy to the mains
- Acoustic tests

- The DynoTrain series consists of AC motors, matching converters and mains inverters especially developed for use on powertrain test beds
- All the system components are designed as a modular construction kit, to give maximum flexibility in customization
- Modular system of power cabinet and machines, for wide range of power, torque and speed available
- Fast digital link to EMCON controller (KIWI), with CPU for the computation of very fast simulation models (optional) in the power cabinet
- High control accuracy in the complete operating area
- Modular system of power cabinet and machines
- Excellent torque measurement accuracy with HBM torque flange

Machines- Power range from 157kW to 700kW, with 25% to 50% overload possibility
- Torque range from 2000Nm to 4600Nm
- Maximum speed range from 2500rpm to 7500rpm
- Large field weakening range (up to 1:5)
- Forced air cooling
- Special versions can be offered for customer specific projects
Cabinets- Full control at zero speed
- Thanks to a multi sensor concept, the load ripple is reduced (<1%), especially at low speed condition
- Large field weakening possibility (> 1:5): high torque and high speed with the same machine
- High speed internal torque controller with double frequency of the IGBT switching (9 kHz, in comparison of 2.5 kHz of conventional systems)
- Reduced dead times inside the converter (< 2 ms, in comparison of 5 ms of standard IGBT systems)
- SW for harmonic damping
- Combination of Asynchronous and PMM machines possible
