The AVL 415S Variable Sampling Smoke Meter is designed for automatic measurement of the soot content in the exhaust gas of particulate emitting internal combustion engines. It is a proven and recommended instrument for measuring diesel particulates based on the classical filter paper method.
Although primarily designed for application on engines test beds, the AVL 415S Smoke Meter can also be used on a chassis dynamometer.
