These test beds are specifically designed to meet the requirements of ASTM fuels and lubes tests.
The following test methods are currently available, but additional ones are being added as they are released by ASTM
The design requirements of the ASTM test methods are very specific and demand the use of many components from mandated sources if the installations are to be utilised for approval purposes. AVL prepared test beds include all of the mandated components required to obtain approval by the ASTM Test Monitoring Centre. Because of the referencing requirements of the TMC system, it is not practical to mount these installations on palletised test beds and so ‘one installation per cell’ is recommended.
Many of the AVL components are either recommended or approved for use in these installations. Where specific USA sourced components are required, these are provided in order to allow approval by the ASTM TMC.
In addition to providing a complete installation, which can be approved by the ASTM TMC, AVL can provide all of the peripheral equipment necessary to operate the tests according to the industry requirements. Included in this list are spare parts, engine preparation equipment, specialised engine building tools, and calibration oils / fuels.
