JASO 2-T TestsApplication DescriptionThese test beds are specifically designed to meet the requirements of JASO 2-T tests.
The following test methods are currently available, but additional ones are being added as they are released by JASO:
- Suzuki Smoke
- Suzuki Exhaust Blocking
- Honda Lubricity
- Honda Ring Stick
Demands on the Test BedAs will almost all industry standard fuels and lubes tests, these installations must follow the prescribed, detailed installation requirements if approved tests are to be conducted. As the utilisation rate per installation is relatively low in most laboratories, it is important to provide a design solution, which minimises overhead costs from high capital investment.
These installations are small enough to allow the complete installation, including power absorption unit to be removed for rebuilding, if required. Because the test durations are short, a great many tests can be carried out in a year and it is impractical to allocate a complete test bed to each individual test method. We therefore recommend the installation of all installations in a single cell, with only two control systems, which can be transferred easily from installation to installation. With this design, either the Suzuki Exhaust Blocking Test, which required two engines to run concurrently, or any two of the other tests can be run at any one time.
The AVL SolutionIn addition to providing a complete installation, which can allow the conducting of JASO approved tests, AVL can provide all of the peripheral equipment necessary to operate the tests according to the industry requirements. Included in this list are spare parts, engine preparation equipment, specialised engine building tools, and calibration oils / fuels.
