Demands on the Test BedThe design requirements of the CEC test methods allow the use of palletised test beds and AVL recommends their use wherever practical in order to improve utilisation rate and return on investment. If required, however, we can supply test installations specific to an individual test cell. CEC test methods are very specific and demand the use of components from mandated sources if the installations are to be utilised for approval purposes.
Standard Test Bed ComponentsIf a number of test methods are to be carried out in one cell, we recommend the use of the Generic Fuels and Lubes test bed as the basis of all installation. Specific pallets can then be provided, which include the engine and all of the mandated parts and equipment.
The AVL SolutionAVL prepared test beds include all of the mandated components required to allow the conducting of tests meeting CEC, ATIEL and ATC requirements.
In addition to providing a complete installation, which can allow the conducting of CEC approved tests, AVL can provide all of the peripheral equipment necessary to operate the tests according to the industry requirements. Included in this list are spare parts, engine preparation equipment, specialised engine building tools, and calibration oils / fuels.
