AVL SESAM MSMass Spectroscopy Multicomponent Exhaust Gas Measurement SystemThe AVL SESAM MS Mass Spectroscopy multicomponent emissions analysis system is a highly sophisticated and innovative exhaust gas measurement device. The System offers solutions for a wide range of applications for Research & Development. It provides the necessary flexibility and modularity to meet the different requirements in modern emissions measurement. Especially the development forwards low emission diesel engines with advanced exhaust gas after-treatment systems (like DPF, SCR, CRT, ...) makes it mandatory to collect additional information about the emission behavior of the engine as it is measured by the AVL SESAM MS multicomponent measuring system.
Main Applications- General exhaust emission measurement purpose on engine and chassis dynamometer test cells.
- Online exhaust evaluation under transient engine operation for modal analysis.
- Development forward low emission engines, vehicles and catalytic converters
- Development and engine calibration of NOx storage catalysts
- Development and engine calibration of Diesel Particulate Traps (Filters)
- Development of Fuel Cells

Benefits at a Glance- Multicomponent emission analyzer, one system for many gas components
- Complete software automation and full integration into test bed automation systems with easy to use intuitive operation, reduce operator errors and training effort. Same software is used for all non-conventional emission systems, enables to change quickly from one system to another.
- High system availability, since only one analyzer is used to measure all gas components (conventional systems require one analyzer per gas component)
- Mobile cabinet enables to share the system between emission test beds
- Service support by remote access

- Quadrupol analyzer with ion counting
- Selective ionization by special ion source
- Electron impact ionization for extended field of applications
- Reactant gas mixtures can be used, switching time between reactant gases 5 ms
- Differentially pumped vacuum systems, pressures separately adjustable
- Optionally integrated sampling system
