Engine Concept DesignThe Concept Design stage for a new engine or engine family is decisive for the future success of the product. AVL performs conceptual engine designs based on a Functional Specification in close co-operation with our customers. Important parameters such as

- Emission regulations to be fulfilled
- Casting -, Forging - and Machining Concept
- Service and maintenance requirements
- Product Cost
are thoroughly investigated in the Engine Concept Design. Resulting from this the Engine Concept can easily be put into production in a short overall product development time without surprises in production cost. Design work is performed in the customer’s in-house CAD system for easy data transfer.
