The AVL Hybrid Testing Solutions provide successful stable and proven testing tools, methods and services especially designed for hybrid vehicles.
Hybrid vehicles are characterized by a combination of mechanical, electrical and control components. The complexity of this mechatronic system requires methods and tools for a successful development of new hybrid vehicle concepts. These advanced methods and tools are delivered by the AVL product groups Hybrid Development Platform (HDP) based on AVL InMotion™ and Battery Testing Systems (BTS).
The core innovation of the Hybrid Development Platform based on AVL InMotion™ is the ability to integrate electrical control units into the loop of the real hybrid components on all variations of AVL performance test beds under operational conditions, thereby providing more effective and realistic testing scenarios. The AVL Battery Testing Systems offer tools for battery testing of all kinds of battery technologies (Lead-Acid, NiMH, Li-Ion), supercaps and fuel cells for characterization on cell, module and pack level (battery test bed (BTS-BT)). The simulation of energy storage systems is realized by embedded and parametrizable real-time models (battery simulator (BTS-BS)).
