Application

Particulate samplers are systems used to collect minute particles in diluted exhaust gas for gravimetric analyses. The gravimetric particulate measurement is applied on dynamic and stationary test beds.

The particulate sampler is used for certification and quality control as well as for engine development and research. The AVL particulate sampler PSS i60 impresses with its innovative concept suitable for a wide range of applications for passenger vehicles and utility vehicles.

The AVL particulate sampler PSS i60 meets the technical challenges for gravimetric particulate measurement according to the current and the future legislations, such as EURO 5 or EPA CFR 40 Part 1065. The use of state-of-the-art and intelligent sensors for flow measurement and particulate filters is critical to meet those requirements with.

Attention to the Last Detail

Due to enhanced sensor technology in combination with appropriate software functionality, it is the first time that we can speak about truly intelligent systems. At the same time, through other enhancements, it was possible to considerably reduce the expenses for user training, service and the general operating costs (total cost of ownership).

Reliable Sampling and Exact Measurement

Optimization of the gas flow in combination with a new and enhanced sensor technology and sensor-based signal electronic equipment has considerably improved measurement accuracy and repeatability. Optimally selectable flowrates and high-quality surface materials make the AVL PSS i60™ particularly suitable for EURO 5/EPA CFR 40 Part 1065 applications for gravimetric particulate measurements. The new particulate filter design and the temperature-conditioned sampling provide the best technical conditions for the measurement of minute particles and low particulate contents.

Quality and Reliability

A very comprehensive pilot customer test program helped prepare the AVL PSS i60™ for mass production. Furthermore, intelligent leak checks and intelligent flow control increase operational reliability with a minimum of maintenance and reduced operating costs.

We show proof of our trust in the reliability of the AVL iGeneration by means of a warranty period extended to 3 years on condition that the relevant AVL maintenance and service requirements are complied with.
