'Hans List Award' in September in Munich

„Hans List Award“ for Innovative Engineers

In order to promote young engineers and their innovative ideas, AVL List in Graz, Austria, has created an award named after its founder, Hans List. In memory of this great pioneer in the development of the internal combustion engine, the “Hans List Award” is worth 50,000 Euro and shall be awarded for the first time in September this year at the FISITA World Congress in Munich.

The aim of the award is to boost the motivation of young engineers to put their innovative ideas into practice, and thus push onward the technical advancement of vehicle drive systems. Achievements can refer equally to an entire powertrain or to individual components of a powertrain, and must be strongly relevant to practical applicability and benefit. A high-ranking international expert jury decides upon the winner in a multi-stage selection process. You can find more details on the award at www.hans-list-award.com. You can also submit your project to this address.

AVL is the world’s largest privately-owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems with combustion engines as well as instrumentation and test systems. The high-tech company AVL employs 3,640 people worldwide. Turnover in 2006 was 537 million Euro.
