Performance & Emission DevelopmentCustomer RequirementsDiesel engines for tractors and machinery in the lower power categories are traditionally low-cost engines. There for the manufacturers of such equipments are requesting cost effective and compact solutions, which fulfils the emission legislation in view of exhaust and noise but do not sacrifice competitive fuel consumption.
For the higher power classes they expect powerful, compact and cost effective solutions, which are fulfilling the above mentioned legislation with a minimum exhaust aftertreatment required.

AVL ApproachTo meet customers requirements AVL has invested considerable effort into emission reduction with minimum cost impact to the engine and tractor or machinery.
For a power range up to 130 kW AVL has developed the TINER-technoloy, which achieves a very cost effective reduction of emission. TINER offers a solution for fulfilling TIER 3 without any external EGR.
For higher power classes and more stringent emission limits AVL uses technologies already applied in-house to HD-engines like cooled EGR in conjunction with advanced fuel injection systems and turbochargers, intercoolers and aftertreatment. |
