The AVL EmIQ approach represents a well developed solution with no major changes on the base engine concept to enable new combustion system including alternative combustion.
Since only small hardware modification in the field of exhaust gas re-circulation system, fuel injection system and piston design are necessary, a cost effective solution for the system application in existing and future engines can be realised. In addition emissions scatter also in standard combustion, based on a cylinder pressure based engine control system (CYPRESS™) can be achieved.
