AVL´s Hybrid Development Expertise

Drive-train development is recently challenged to reduce fuel-economy, enhance fun to drive and comfort and all under the constrained of further tightened emission legislations. Besides enormous efforts in engine and transmission development and optimization the Hybrid powertrain is seen as promising technology in order to improve this trade-off.

The vehicle manufacturers are facing a high number of uncertainties with respect to market, legislation and concepts. Multiple solutions are competing, each of them having advantages in different areas. A proper selection is challenging as the full potential of Hybrids can only be gained by improving the entire system. And furthermore engines and transmissions need to be optimized for the specific needs of Hybrid powertrains.

Consistent Development Methodology for hybrid AWD powertrains.
