News 2007 News: 2nd Int. Symposium on Development Methodology  2nd International Symposium on Development Methodology

2nd International Symposium on Development Methodology

„Optimization of Complex Powertrains – a Challenge for the Future“ was the subject of the „1st International Symposium on Development Methodology“ for engine and powertrain development that took place on the 11th and 12th of October 2005 in the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden.

The first symposium has been a great success and the feedback from the audience was very positive - more than 200 participants from more than 60 international companies took part in the symposium. Renowned speakers came from a variety of backgrounds, e.g. from universities and many international companies such as Daimler Chrysler, BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen, Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Bosch, Siemens VDO and others.

As requested by the participants and as promised by myself at the end of the previous symposium, the continuation of this event will take place in the form of the „2nd International Symposium on Development Methodology“ in Wiesbaden.

The focal point of the symposium is oncemore the application of development methodology to fulfil current and future calibration and development tasks in the area of engineand powertrain development. Papers will cover the use and deployment of methodology for simulation, steady state and dynamic test beds, and in the vehicle. A further topic is the challenge presented to methodology and testing technology by new concepts such as hybrid and fuel cell systems.

The 2nd symposium is designed to neatly continue the topics covered in 2005. On the one hand we will discuss what has been achieved in the meantime and on the other hand, we look forward to hearing new and exciting approaches and concepts.

We are again expecting over 200 participants in Wiesbaden on the 13th and 14th of November 2007. The target group for the symposium consists of engineers and methodology experts from various development areas for engine, gearbox and powertrain development together with management.

I would be honoured to be able to greet you at the symposium. Please note the date in your diary.
See you in Wiesbaden.

Best regards,
Prof. Dr. - Ing. G. Hohenberg – University of Technology Darmstadt
