iGEM PSS - The Device Controller

The new control system with the central controller (iGEM = intelligent General Emission Manager) combines many years of experience from development and operation of 3 different controller systems (for AVL/PTS, Pierburg/FFP,PEUS/PegaSys). In the course of development, special emphasis was given to the intelligent basic system, which constitutes the basis for an intuitive operation and high efficiency diagnostic options, easy connectivity, intelligent interfaces and easy upgrading.

Intelligent

  • Highly capable, configurable, graphical control system, comprehensive parameterization options, with interactive help system.
  • Optional control via touch screen and/or keyboard/trackball (folding).
  • Plug & play for units in the system and integration of external peripheral devices.
  • Interactive diagnostic system, also via remote connection (network or Internet).
  • Option to connect the systems, remote operation possible.
  • Self-learning alarm manager with logbook function and error filter.

Innovative

  • The first particulate sampler world-wide with ASAM-GDI interface combined with plug & play. Thus, it can easily be connected to host computers (*).
  • The operating systems of all electronic units (e. g. change over elements) can be checked (debugged) and also replaced (software update) via remote control.

Flexible

  • In addition to the ASAM-GDI interface, the AK protocol on RS232 or Ethernet and OPC (Open Process Control from Microsoft) are supported for a wide variety of control interfaces.
  • Standardized CAN Open technology supports the integration of external or third-party devices using freely definable interfaces.
  • Software developed process according to CMMI and innovative test and integration programs guaranteeing high quality that is also measurable.

* If these supports ASAM GDI
