'Large Engines TechDays' End of May in Graz

3rd AVL Conference for Large Engines Manufacturers, Users and Suppliers

The Large Engines TechDays, held by AVL List GmbH for the third time already, are directed at large engines manufacturers, suppliers and users across the world. On May 28 and 29, 2008 in the Stadthalle Graz the future challenges to this booming branch will be dealt with under the title 'Emission Challenges and Future Fuels'. Around 150 experts from all corners of the world are expected to attend this conference, which will be held in English.

The topics dealt with at the AVL Large Engines TechDays range from possible solutions for future emission limits to resulting economic aspects as seen from the perspective of large engines users. Also, the effects of emission regulations, alternative fuels and the adherence to emission limits for different applications shall be discussed.

The AVL Large Engines TechDays were established in 2004 as a platform for the large engines community – representing manufacturers and users – and has been held regularly at two-year intervals since. This conference brings together experts from all round the world in an interdisciplinary discussion, as the traditional AVL conference 'Engine and Environment' has also done for many years now in the field of automotive engine and vehicle technology.

In addition to other fields of activity, the high tech company AVL has been involved in large engines and their applications such as ship engines, locomotives and power plants for 60 years, and even has a separate division for this field.

AVL is the world’s largest privately-owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems with combustion engines as well as instrumentation and test systems. The high-tech company AVL employs 3,640 people worldwide. Turnover in 2006 was 537 million Euro.
