For what will be the 5th time now, development and research engineers are to come together from the vehicle, engine, component supply and instrumentation sectors, to be joined by scientists and decision makers from associations, ministries and authorities. Their shared aim; to check out the current status and forthcoming challenges in the field of exhaust emissions and to engage in discussion together.
Against a background of ever more stringent emissions regulations worldwide, accompanied by the increasing importance of CO2 emissions, discussions will revolve around efficient strategies for reduction. In addition, clean air measures relating to particulate pollution and European NO2 guidelines applicable from 2010 will also be taken into consideration. Alongside concepts for diesel vehicles, there will be particular interest in measures applied to stratified charge spark ignition engines, hybrid drives and alternative fuel usage.
Rounding off this exciting program are presentations on instrumentation trends, the state of the art in sensors and computational simulation.
It is planned that the plenary presentations should deal with the significance of traffic-related emissions compared with other sources in a way that is objective and free of emotion.
On behalf of the organizer AVL Germany, it is our pleasure to invite you for the second time to the 'Forum am Schlosspark' in the historic city of Ludwigsburg in February 2008, with a view to discussing the automotive future.
