Optimization of E-Motor Thermal Behavior using 3D Simulation
Thermal stability is one of the major challenges in powertrain electrification. Therefore, it is necessary to address this issue already early in the development process. The predictive simulation of the component thermal behavior enables engineers to approve their design virtually.
AVL’s E-Motor thermal analysis toolchain seamlessly covers
- the evaluation of the heat sources,
- the influence of the cooling concept (water cooling jackets, oil spray cooling),
- the determination of the structural temperature distribution and
- the extraction of 0D representation for the cooling system integration.
