AVL AMA SL™ - Testing Solutions for Passenger Cars

Fascination has a new dimension
AVL AMA SL™
High-end Exhaust Measurement System
AVL AMA SLTM Exhaust Measurement System revolutionizes emission testing for engine exhaust gas measurement in research & development as well as certification for all engines and fuel types.

The Challenge
As exhaust emission regulations get stricter and include new and longer test cycles (like WLTC or Hybrid cycles), there are more demands than ever on emission testing. Due to the complexity of engine and powertrain testbeds today, test field managers have many questions:
- Does the increased number of sample points influence the unit under test more?
- How can maintenance times, operation cost and time intensive test runs be minimized?
- What changes can be made to ensure high testbed efficiency?

The AVL Solution
The AVL AMA SLTM (SlimLine) Exhaust Measurement System revolutionizes emission testing for engine exhaust gas measurements. The new emission analysis system is characterized by its slim and minimalist system design, very low sample flow rates for highly accurate test results, and increased energy efficiency. Compared to conventional emission benches, the AVL AMA SLTM is a more economical system that provides most accurate test results with less energy and maintenance costs.
The AVL AMA SLTM analyzes with a wide dynamic measurement range up to eight exhaust gas components and can measures CO2 EGR as well to calculate the exhaust recirculation rate (EGR). The dual stream system enables a parallel measurement at two sampling points e.g. before and after the catalyst so that the converter efficiency can be determined right away. In contrast to conventional exhaust emission benches the dual stream AMA SLTM offers the unique possibility to measure at two EGR sampling points at the same time.

The Added Value
AVL AMA SL™
- Design flexibility: New installation possibilities thanks to extremely slim design
- Lower long-term costs: Significantly lower operational costs caused by a new smart service concept
- More accuracy: Measurements without impact on the UUT due to immensely reduced sample volumes
- Efficient use of time: Maximum uptime thanks to a unique service-friendly and robust design and significantly reduced service time
