The development of an engine is initiated by engineering targets for the future vehicle fleet. To secure the technical data each development starts with the design of the combustion process itself. Since engine lifetime is a core criteria for modern engines specific focus is put on durability as well. However any engine must comply with emissions and its deployment in a multitude of vehicle variants. Therefore Calibration on engine testbeds for performance, fuel economy and emissions is a major task. But calibration is not just limited to those parameters. Driveability and Acoustics characterize modern vehicles. Here high performance dynamic test systems open a whole new world of testing possibilities.
