On Chassis Dyno and Powertrain Testbed

With a diverse set of electrified powertrains on the rise (PHEV, HEV, BEV, FCEV), OEMs face mounting pressure at the development stage to make as many decisions as possible, as early as possible, and as efficiently as possible. Currently, the development of electrified powertrains is mainly based on using prototype vehicles on test tracks with an empirical approach. AVL has developed a holistic solution via combining state-of-the-art methods (e.g. DoE), emulation of powertrain components (e.g. battery emulation) and simulation applied to different testbed types (chassis dyno, powertrain testbed, …). The maturity of this solution was proven in different SOP programs.
