AVL ROADSIM 25" INLINE ATV™ Chassis Dynamometer - Testing Solutions for Passenger Cars
AVL ROADSIM 25" INLINE ATV™ Chassis Dynamometer
AVL Approach
The cradled AC motor is arranged next to a fixed roller. It is designed for ideal road load simulation of vehicles. The mass simulation is realized electrically by the AC motor with a mechanical base inertia of the roller.
Benefits at a Glance
- Reduced tire losses due to suitable roller diameter
- Simple and fast on-site assembly
- Highly-precise and proven road load simulation
- Aluminum covering for robust testing under several environmental conditions

Measuring Principle
Tractive force
The tractive force is measured by a strain gauge sensor supporting the cradle mounted motor.
Speed
The speed is measured by an incremental encoder with two 90° shifted tracks with detection of the direction of rotation.
