/ 5 25 Years AVL International Conference “Engine & Environment” In addition, we make a conscious effort to be different from other, large-scale conferences such as the Vienna Motor Symposium and the Aachen Colloquium by protecting the family feel of “Engine & Environment”. Our target size lies between 300 and 500 participants and we deliberately do without parallel sessions to avoid attendees rushing from one presentation to the next. We consider it much more important to give participants a broad platform for talks and discussions. Why should one attend the “Engine & Environment” conference? At this trend-focused event, we discuss topics that look at the state of automotive development 10 to 15 years from now. Successfully, as a browse through this anniversary brochure shows, we had good instincts regarding our key topics. And over the last 25 years we always succeeded in finding highly relevant decision-makers as keynote speakers and high-ranking experts for the technical presentations. The panel discussion that concludes the conference is also of great interest for the attendees, as it tends to promote a very frank exchange of opinions.
