/ 17 MOBEO METHODOLOGY The fOX MoBEO workflow enables users to simulate and calibrate the ECU under certain environmental and driving conditions in a MiL/SiL environment, based on a virtual engine model. All work is executed in a virtual environment, where altitude tests and cold start conditions can be simulated easily with high accuracy. This approach, therefore, is the key enabler to prepare HiL and SiL environments for calibration. QUICK FACTS • Virtual calibration to reduce testing and validation effort • Faster than realtime by integrating data on environmental conditions • Easy usability of simulation environments The MoBEO Engine model is a semi-physical modelling approach, which can be used over the whole engine development process with growing accuracy and simulation capability. By combining the MoBEO Engine model with ECU models in AVL fOX MoBEO workflow, considerable cost savings can be made and a number of calibration tasks can be carried out that are not possible in conventional development environments for reasons of time and cost, such as IUPMR, RDE or component tolerance investigations, with many different variants, vehicles and cycles. APPLICATIONS • xCU function development • xCU software validation and calibration validation • Automated OBD testing (OBDI, OBDII & PVE) • (Pre-) Calibration on the basis of highly sophisticated powertrain models – Non-standard environmental conditions – Component protection – Vehicle/Engine derivate pre-calibration – RDE – Real Driving Emission evaluation • Validation tests as a continuous companion throughout the whole calibration process • Robustness and production tolerance investigations taking into account system interactions Further product information on page 202 fOX Lab fOX mSPACE fOX CAL fOX CAL fOX CAL HC PRODUCTION TOLERANCES AC CO NOX +… - AGING EFFECTS CALIBRATION DRIVING CYCLE ENVIRONMENT
