Drastically reduced emission limits call for increased measurement accuracy of particulate mass results. AVL��s solution to these new challenges is the Filter Weighing Cham��er ��FWC��. It is a cost- and space-saving alternative to a separately conditioned clean room and offers ma��imum user friendliness, ergonomics and functionality. The AVL Filter Weighing Ro��ot ��FWR�� automates the weighing process from conditioning to fi lter disposal and archiving ��from 160 to 640 fi lters��. Thus, it reduces measurement inaccuracy and increases the effi ciency of the entire weighing process. MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE A laminar �� ow with a precise monitoring of temperature and dew point is assured within the working area. In addition, the atmospheric pressure is monitored and is ready to be used for the required buoyancy correction. The ambient air inserted into the working area is prepared to achieve the clean room standard 5 according to ISO 14644-1. A vi��ration-decoupled weighing stone is situated in the weighing section. The high-precision scale is place on this stone. Throughout the whole weighing process, automated ��y the AVL FWR, the fi lter stays in a RFI�� transport ring with integrated RFI�� chip. There��y, any fi lter data can ��e stored and read anytime. No moving of the fi lters or handling with foreceps is necessary. APPLICATION The AVL FWC is ideally suited for installation in la��oratory and test��ed environments for particle fi lter weighing. The working area offers suffi cient space for handling and storage of the particle fi lters. The AVL FWR is used and controlled ��y means of AVL ParticleScale for the measurement of very low particulate masses.
