Development and, in particular, combustion development, has a 60 year history in AVL and is one of the core competences of AVL since the foundation of the company.
AVL developed the direct injected diesel combustion from the very beginning for all engine sizes and applications. Consequently, we pre-developed the first series production HSDI worldwide. AVL is also one of the pioneers in gasoline GDI and TGDI combustion development.
Today we combine this key know-how with the use of all advanced methodology and development tools to find the overall optimum for the different kinds of future powertrain.
