8th AVL International Commercial Powertrain Conference brings together leading global experts

One of the most globally significant commercial powertrain conferences for truck, bus, agricultural and construction equipment takes place at the Helmut- List Halle in Graz on May 20 – 21, 2015.

AVL is hosting a unique, well-established conference – now for the 8th time – which brings together leading global experts from a number of industries to highlight the latest developments in commercial vehicle powertrains. The combined expertise from all these industries offers many fascinating synergies, allowing experts and managers both in OEM and supplier companies to learn from best practice examples in other areas of the powertrain industry.

High-level keynotes will highlight
the current and future situation

Leading experts from the three powertrain industries – buses and trucks, agricultural and construction equipment - will outline the latest achievements in research and development: fuel alternatives reducing the dependence from fossil energy sources, new drivetrains improving operating efficiency, electronic systems exchanging data between vehicles and machines. The cost implications of the inherent increase in complexity are discussed in the closing session. High-level speakers give their views, provide best practice examples and might spark new ideas for new and even more innovative products. Speakers include:

  • Torbjörn Holmström - Volvo Group
  • Dr. Satoshi Iida - Kubota Corporation
  • Dr. M. Lou Balmer-Millar - Caterpillar, Inc.
  • Dr.-Ing. Hans-Otto Herrmann - Daimler AG
  • Dr. Dirk Bergmann - CNH Industrial
  • Kari Aaltonen - AGCO Power
  • Nils-Gunnar Vågstedt - Scania CV AB and many more.

After the presentations, joint discussions will show potential synergies and use of technologies in other powertrain applications of the three industries. The chance to meet a wide variety of different experts from other industry areas makes this a remarkable and unique networking opportunity.
