It is designed for testing cars and light commercial vehicles in applications like NVH analysis.

AVL Approach

The cradle mounted AC motor is arranged beside the roller set. Acoustic treatments like hydraulic bearing, enclosures, etc. reduce the acoustic emissions. The road load simulation uses the mechanical base inertia together with electrical inertia simulation.

Measuring Principle

Tractive force
The tractive force is measured by a strain gauge sensor supporting the cradle mounted motor.

Speed
The speed is measured by an incremental encoder with two 90° shifted tracks with detection of the direction of rotation.
