NVH is an important task in the powertrain and transmission development. High noise levels and disturbing noise and vibrations are emissions and are to be avoided or reduced!
The need for transmission NVH development has risen due to recent progress (DCT, AT, CVT, HEV, EV ...) and future requirements (EU: <95 g/km in 2020) in automotive propulsion technique and are intrinsically tied to advanced transmission and drivetrain technology - measures for improving efficiency are often bad for NVH.
Currently a wide spectrum of new transmission concepts driven by efficiency enhancement and electrification are developed. In comparison to conventional vehicles with ICE, electrification leads to less noise masking hence the tonality of mechanic and electric components can be experienced as disturbance.
In this webinar an overview about noise phenomena, modelling technique and results interpretation/noise assessment is given.
