AVL has established a permanent presence at the new MUBIL Center in Gipuzkoa, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility with cutting-edge testing infrastructure for electric and hydrogen powertrains.

MUBIL Lab Experience

Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain, May 30, 2025 – AVL, a global leader in the development and testing of propulsion systems, proudly participated in the MUBIL Lab Experience 2025, held at the newly inaugurated MUBIL Center in Gipuzkoa. The event brought together over 120 international experts to explore the future of sustainable and intelligent mobility.

The MUBIL Lab Experience served as a platform for strategic dialogue among leading companies such as DANA, CAF, and Aston Martin. The event underscored Gipuzkoa’s emergence as a European hub for mobility innovation, with the MUBIL Center at its core. Prof. Helmut List, Chairman and CEO of AVL, delivered a keynote emphasizing the critical role of advanced testing infrastructure in accelerating the transition to zero-emission mobility.

AVL has played a key role in the design and implementation of the MUBIL Center’s state-of-the-art testing facilities. These include laboratories dedicated to electric powertrains, and hydrogen energy systems—enabling comprehensive validation under real-world conditions. The facilities are designed to support OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology developers in bringing sustainable mobility solutions to market faster and more efficiently.

In a significant step to deepen its collaboration, foster innovation, and accelerate the development of sustainable mobility solutions within the region’s growing innovation ecosystem, AVL has established a permanent office within the MUBIL Center.

AVL’s involvement in the MUBIL initiative reflects its long-standing commitment to advancing sustainable mobility through cutting-edge technology and global collaboration.

Prof. Helmut List, Chairman and CEO, AVL, said: "The MUBIL Lab Experience 2025 impressively demonstrates how regional initiatives can have a global impact. As a long-standing technology partner, we are delighted to contribute our experience and innovative strength to the strategic orientation of the MUBIL Center. The new test infrastructure, which we designed and implemented together with MUBIL, is an important building block for the future of emission-free mobility – not only in Gipuzkoa, but far beyond. Our new office on site underscores our clear commitment to the region and to long-term cooperation.”
