Short development times for new electric motors are critical. Since time is limited, it is essential to avoid errors that would prolong the development phase. Our solution supports your development by enabling:
- Differentiation between rotational and translational vibrations
- Detection of structural weaknesses in the motor housing
- Combining the advantages of conventional vibration and torque measurement
- Continuous improvement of simulation results
- Optimization of inverter control strategies
Torque Ripple
Torque measurement provides an additional measurement variable for detecting lateral forces that cannot be measured using conventional techniques. This enables a more comprehensive understanding of the overall behavior of the electric motor.
Cogging Torque
Precise measurement of cogging torque in accordance with ISO 21782-3, without the need to remove or recalibrate the measurement equipment.
Simulation
Direct measurement of reaction forces and moments at the motor via the shaft connection ensures undistorted measurement results.
The measurement technology is based on the piezoelectric effect and offers several advantages, including maximum stiffness, high-bandwidth measurements, and a sensor configuration that covers the entire measurement range without recalibration.
The measurement chain consists of the Dynamic Torque Transducer, AVL X-ion™, and the AVL BEAT NVH Toolbox – this combination unlocks the full potential for your e-motor testing.

Plug & Play
Easy integration and fast commissioning on existing or new AVL e-motor testbeds.
Seamless Integration
Full integration into the AVL measurement environment and test automation.
Advanced Measurement Technology
Highly dynamic measurement technology enables reliable analysis of motor behavior – even at high rotational speeds.
Ease of Use
The AVL BEAT (NVH Toolbox) interface enables fast and intuitive interpretation of measurement results.
Differentiation Between Rotational and Translational Vibrations
Clear differentiation between these two phenomena increases efficiency during the development phase.
Reliable Measurement Results
Since the Dynamic Torque Transducer is always installed in the same position on the testbench, you can rely on the collected measurement data.
Measurement Results in Newton and Newton-Meter
Direct force and torque measurement enables easier and more accurate correlation with simulation models.
With the Dynamic Torque Transducer you can see all forces and moments of dynamic processes of an electric motor – for optimization, durability, and production assurance.”
