/ 91 Vehicle Testbeds for Advanced Calibration Applications AVL offers integrated solutions for calibration tasks on vehicle testbeds. These are composed of the required testbed system, the attuned software solutions and the related methodological support. CHARACTERISTICS The process of networking in AVL ROADSIM, AVL PUMA Open for Vehicle Testing, AVL CAMEO™, AVL ACT and AVL DRIVE results in a flexible and powerful overall solution. During this process, the vehicle testbed is responsible for an exact modeling of the road. On the one hand, the automation allows for automatic operation of the test specimen, and on the other hand, it allows for a quick changeover between different reproducible operating statuses due to the close coupling with the controlled testbed. Besides controlling the test, AVL CAMEO™ is integrated into the entire test planning and analysis, including model formation, optimization and map calculator. An ASAP 3 interface can be used to transfer the drivability-relevant ECU/TCU variables to the application system. AVL DRIVE ultimately evaluates the driving maneuvers and determines the notes and physical parameters. The signal of a load cell is designed as an equivalent to the longitudinal vehicle acceleration, whereby this load cell is integrated in a special vehicle support. APPLICATION This solution is used for engine, transmission and overall powertrain calibration. Time- and cost-intensive road tests can largely be shifted to the vehicle testbed. On the basis of the model-based approach, only the determined vehicle adjustment has to be verified on the road. Adjustments with different objectives, such as comfort and dynamics, are implemented easily.
