/ 51 SEAMLESS CONTROL FUNCTION DEVELOPMENT AND CALIBRATION The modular vehicle drivetrain modeling concept of AVL CRUISE M allows the setting up and switching between subsystems with various levels of detail within a single plant model. This significantly reduces the effort of parameter changes and model maintenance, and which enables one to quickly adjust to specific needs for different working environments. Interfaces to a wide range of modeling and programming tools and control test platforms provide engineers with the openness needed to expand model fidelity in well-defined areas, and to incorporate them in a seamless MiL to SiL to HiL development workflow. AVL CRUISE M Engine delivers a real-time capable engine model dedicated to the investigation of transient offline operating conditions in office and testing environment. The engine mode runs in the time domain through the use of transient and steady-state 0D and quasi-dimensional component models, or alternatively with a crank-angle-resolved or data-driven surrogate cylinder module. AVL CRUISE M supports engine performance, fuel consumption, combustion, emissions, aftertreatment and cooling applications. AVL CRUISE M with MoBEO (Model Based Engine Optimization) offers semi-physical modules for gasoline and diesel cylinder and exhaust aftertreatment system simulation integrated in the already established CRUISE M Engine solution. MoBEO provides an ideal setting for large-scale control function development and calibration teamwork. CRUISE M with MoBEO enables an automated engine calibration process for all vehicle types, backed up by powertrain engineering know-how.
