Release Event 2025 R1

Simulation Solutions

Whether you attend a conference, exhibition or technology forum, everyone is talking about hybrids. That doesn’t mean that electrification is off the table. On the contrary, hybrids require batteries, e-motors, and power-electronics as well. What’s new is the growing realization that the IC-engine stays with us but with changed requirements.

When combining the electrical propulsion systems with ICEs, we gain the flexibility of different operating modes, but this also introduces a higher level of system complexity. Developing hybrid vehicles cost-effectively, there is no way around virtualizing the development process and specifically the design verification process.

With this goal in mind, we have developed a broad range of new capabilities, available in our 2025 R1 Release.

Topics
  • Vehicle Systems: Advanced 3D modeling and result visualization for thermal components like heat exchangers and cooling plates, along with enhanced map-based driving cycles and virtual testing of road conditions like snow or ice for controller development.
  • Battery: New 3D capabilities for multi-physical battery cell modeling within system level for thermal layout and BMS development but also model export to consider ECB in full 3D thermal and hazard analysis.
  • Fuel Cell: Electrolyzer simulation is still the major focus of our development and with it several improvements for PEM electrolyzers.
  • Powertrain: For the ICE, our release brings extensions from combustion analysis to durability assessment of roller bearings and sliding contacts.
