/ 25 AVL CAMEO™ TRANSMISSION AVL CAMEO™ Transmission is an application extension of AVL CAMEO™ designed to make the transmission development process for automated transmissions faster and more efficient. HOW AVL CAMEO™ TRANSMISSION WORKS IN PRACTICE: In the test environment, the vehicle is equipped with longitudinal force measurement equipment. AVL CAMEO™ Transmission controls a driving and shifting robot via a Chassis Dynamometer controller interface in order to execute the desired shifts and vary the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) parameters which have an influence the shift quality. The AVL solution also includes AVL-DRIVE (Objective Drivability Measurement System) for Transmission – this system identifies and evaluates actual gearshift quality. Once the test run is completed, AVL CAMEO™ Transmission optimizes the TCU parameters in order to reach the shift quality requirements (comfort, sportiness, shift delay etc.). AVL CAMEO™ Transmission simplifies the test plan and test run, on chassis dynamometer systems, by using an embedded vehicle model, in conjunction with a transmission DoE wizard and an intelligent test optimization procedure. AVL CAMEO™ Transmission supports the calibration engineer in finding the shift quality optimization of automated transmissions by optimizing test procedures and data generation. The integration of the complete calibration workflow into one tool ensures higher standards in calibration efficiency and consistency. By automating the transmission process and optimizing the gear shift behavior, AVL CAMEO™ plays a key role in the reduction of CO2 emissions and in the future of modern calibration procedures. • Legislation tests on the chassis dynamometer can be done earlier and less iterations are needed to fulfill the targets. • Less Number of Expeditions Needed • A good optimization result helps to find the best calibration with a lower number of expeditions. • One Tool • The integration of the complete calibration workflow into one tool improves the efficiency and the consistency of the calibration process. • Integration with V-Development Process • AVL CAMEO™ is integrated into processes at many positions of a typical V-Development cycle.
