AVL is continuing its group-wide restructuring program and will cut a further 350 jobs at its Graz site. This is due to the continuing challenging market development in the automotive industry and structural changes that require extensive organizational and economic adjustments. The aim of the measures is to strengthen the company's long-term competitiveness.

Graz, January 28, 2026 – The industry has been undergoing a period of profound change and upheaval as well as fluctuating customer demand for some time. These developments affect the entire European mobility sector and require strategic clarity and investment power from companies. AVL is responding to these changes with a long-term transformation and restructuring program.

CEO Prof. Helmut List emphasizes the significance of the decision: "Those who know me know that job cuts are among the most difficult decisions – for the company and for me personally. We are aware that such measures directly affect people and thus go far beyond economic aspects. At the same time, they are necessary in the current situation in order to position AVL sustainably and secure our technological innovation strength."

The implementation will take place in close consultation with employee representatives. A social plan with outplacement measures will again be used for the redundancies. With the restructuring program initiated by the company itself, AVL is responding to the decisive market developments of recent months and is consistently pursuing its goal of increasing productivity and efficiency and further expanding its role as an international technology partner. The focus is on future fields such as alternative drive systems, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.

In conclusion, Prof. List explains: "We are realigning our organization in order to remain a technological leader while operating in an economically stable manner. We are convinced that this restructuring will enable us to continue providing our customers with the highest level of support and secure a long-term future for our company."

With more than 12,200 employees, AVL is one of the world's leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry and in other sectors such as rail, shipping and energy.
