electrify the world of motorcycles in
more ways than one. Heading the
start-up based out of the Bay Area
in San Francisco, Fenigstein is creating
a range of two-wheelers that
push the barriers of speed as well as
technology.
For six years, Alta Motors has been
designing a new type of motorcycle
experience: high-tech, fully-electric
and with all the excitement you would
expect from this kind of machine.
There are currently three models in
the Redshift range: the street-legal SM
supermoto; the MX motocrosser; and
the latest 2018 Enduro EX model –
a crossover combining the ideal ratio
of motocross speed, singletrack performance

and urban capability. Lightning
fast acceleration and low weights
make the Redshift range potent and
exhilarating rides.
In a competitive world of gasoline
guzzling monsters, why did
Fenigstein and Alta focus on highperformance
electric alternatives?
“Competition-level off-road motorcycles
provided the ideal laboratory
for developing our technology and
entering the motorcycle market,” begins
Fenigstein. “It’s a use case with
extreme requirements in durability,
for example shock, vibe, sealing and
functionality, i.e. energy and power
density. We felt that power and energy
density were the keys to disrupting
current combustion markets and
