engine, other powertrain
components, such as transmissions,
are brought to the fore acoustically
and may be perceived as annoying.
AVL has recognized this need
within AVL EXCITE™, a fl exible,
multi-body dynamics simulation
software. It allows analyzing indi-
vidual mechanical noise sources very
accurately. AVL EXCITE™ enables
the calculation engineer to optimize
the acoustic behavior of powertrain
components. Through mostly automated
result evaluation, the tool supports
the engineer in detecting NVH
problems and realizing respective
optimizations at an early stage in the
development process. Thus, the need
for costly prototypes is signifi cantly
minimized and the development time
and costs can be reduced. <

AVL CAMEO 4™
– Makes complexity easy
ECU calibration is a major
task in modern powertrain development.
Despite an increasing complexity
of modern control units, new
emission legislations and higher degrees
of freedom, time invested in
calibration tasks must be reduced.
How to overcome this challenge?
With AVL CAMEO 4™ the road
for the future is set and prepared.
With the newly developed “Active
DoE”, the software is generating excellent
calibration results. It is an interactive
process, which automatically
adapts the design to the given
targets. Intelligent mechanisms support
calibration engineers to easily
generate high quality results, which
can directly be used for their calibration
tasks. <
AVL CALGAS i60™ manages
centrally all calibration gases
used in an exhaust emissions testing
facility. The smart calibration gas
management system delivers the data
of the connected gases straight to
the emissions measuring system or
to the AVL emission test automation
system.
Further benefi ts:
• Effi cient and reliable handling of
all the available calibration gases
for signifi cantly enhanced quality
• Automatic calibration gas data synchronization
for valid emission tests
• Automatic monitoring of fi ll levels
and statuses of all connected gas
cylinders for maximum testbed
